ALMA Science and Proposals Workshop
25-27 February 2019 - Istituto di Radioastronomia Bologna, Italy
In view of the upcoming ALMA Cycle 7 proposal submission deadline on 18 April 2019, the Italian node of the European ALMA Regional Centre organizes a mini-workshop to bring together actual and potential ALMA users. It will be an opportunity to hear the latest scientific results and to start thinking about possible proposals and share ideas.
Workshop webpageNew Quests in Stellar Astrophysics IV: Astrochemistry, Astrobiology and the Origin of Life
31 March - 05 April 2019 , Hotel Melia Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
This is the fourth of a series of workshops oriented towards understanding the properties of stars and stellar systems. The focus of this workshop will be upon understanding the astrochemistry and astrobiology of other stellar systems, with a specific emphasis placed on observational data from the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array and the Large Millimeter Telescope.
WebpageIAU Symposium 352: Uncovering early galaxy evolution in the ALMA and JWST era
03-07 June 2019, Castelo do Santiago da Barra, Viana do Castelo, Portugal
Based on results from older telescopes, it is now known that most star and galaxy formation took place before z=2. ALMA and the James Webb Space Telescope will take this field of research further, allowing astronomers to study the gas, dust, and stars within these high-redshift galaxies and to understand the formation and evolutionary processes in the early universe. Both observers and theorists are invited to contribute to the symposium.
WebpageViews on the Interstellar Medium in galaxies in the ALMA era
02-06 September 2019, Bologna, Italy
ALMA has opened up new possibilities in studying the interstellar medium in galaxies, ranging from detailed measurements of the properties of molecular clouds in nearby galaxies to surveys of gas in high-redshift sources. This meeting will bring people together to discuss the latest results from ALMA's investigation of these topics as well as the way forward in this field of research.
WebpageALMA2019 Science Meeting: science results and cross-facility synergies
14-18 October 2019, Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy
This meeting will review ALMA's major science results in the three years after the last ALMA general science meeting. Once again, the meeting will be devoted to a broad range of science topics, including Solar System objects, protostellar discs, AGN, and high-redshift galaxies.
